Our company has three main areas of speciality
Supply
We have sourced the world’s most luxurious and resplendent species of timber.
All timber supplied by us is produced from sustainable forests
throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Far East.
We can supply all types and species of timber, including laminated flooring
and engineered boards. Timber can be ordered and supplied in the form of block,
parquet, mosaic, strip and plank, and also in variety of decorative borders, panels
and inserts. Species available include, but are not limited to, Ash, Oak, Merbau,
Mahogany, Walnut, Iroko, Cherry, Beech, Birch, Bamboo and Wenge.
One of our particular specialities is American White Oak. Double-kilned for maximum
stability and minimal shrinkage or expansion, this is currently one of our most
popular lines, available from stock and delivered within two-three days for a minimal
charge. Any other timber order placed with us is delivered within seven working days,
subject to stock availability. Delivery charges are subject to quantity and type of timber.
Installation
With over twenty years’ experience of timber flooring installation, you can be
assured of our quality of workmanship and attention to detail. A member of the
Guild of Master Craftsmen, we work hard to maintain our reputation, and are proud
that over 80% of our work is through recommendation. Our clients are our lifeblood
and we, naturally, put their requirements and needs above all other areas of business.
All our work is guaranteed and our policy of final payment upon satisfaction ensures
that our clients are happy with their finished floors. Our work is hand-finished and
traditional methods of installation are employed which, when combined with the best of
modern technology, ensure any floor we install has an appearance that is second to none.
We also offer a service to fit laminated and engineered flooring, should this be your
preference, and believe we can offer a quality service at reasonable cost, whilst still
employing outwardly traditional methods of installation, something lacking in a lot of
“carpet fitters turned wood flooring specialists” that are advertising their services.
Again, our specialist sourcing capabilities ensure that we can provide a better product for
a more reasonable price than most of our competitors, including the leading DIY retailers!
Renovation
One of our speciality areas is that of renovation of existing wood flooring. From
original nineteenth century parquet to three-year old damaged laminate flooring,
we can and do provide the solution.
We can match almost perfectly any age, species and size of flooring, due to our
extensive sourcing, and the traditional skills we possess enable us to restore a floor’s
former beauty, despite the damage occasioned to it. From hand-shaping pieces of missing
ornate borders to filling areas of concrete left by removal of fire hearths or walls,
from filling and minimising of unsightly scratches or stains, from replacing areas of
timber damaged by water, we can provide a reasonably-priced and sensible
alternative to replacement of a whole floor.
One particular area which we specialise in within this category is that of sanding and
sealing floorboards. This can be a cost effective and stylish way to transform a home.
The look of natural pine floorboards, stripped and lacquered or waxed, fits into any
home and with any décor, from a quaint country cottage to a modern riverside
apartment, and by staining the boards prior to finishing, a whole further
range of possibilities are opened up.
The benefits
Your initial interest may come from a design idea, or a magazine, but when reality takes
over - what are you left with? A beautiful floor. This goes without saying - it is the
idea you have, the look you want to achieve, but how to maintain that look on a day to
day basis. Quite simply, it is quite simple.
A properly installed and finished floor will withstand many extremes of treatment. It will
be hard-wearing, easy to clean, and easy to maintain. Surprisingly warm underfoot, the
timber conducts heat to avoid the “coldness” associated with other floor coverings such
as ceramics or marble. Spillages wipe up almost without effort and cleaning is as easy
as wiping a damp cloth over it. There is no polishing, waxing, oiling, or anything other
than simply to sweep regularly and wipe over on a weekly basis.
A wooden floor is also extremely beneficial to anybody suffering from allergies, eczema,
asthma or other afflictions of this nature. Because a timber floor does not absorb dust or
animal hair, or allow dust-mites to thrive, you can be sure that your floor is not only
aesthetically pleasing, but also hygienic and environmentally friendly.
Whatever your reasons for choosing a wooden floor, we can help you make your dreams
become reality. All our quotations are free and without obligation. For further details,
please contact us for a swift and non-obligatory response.
